THE 16TH AUSTIN ASIAN AMERICAN FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES OFFICIAL FILM LINEUP, TAKING PLACE JUNE 26 - 30 AT AFS CINEMA

The Austin Asian American Film Festival (AAAFF) will present films by International, Asian Diasporic, Asian American and local Texas filmmakers 

(AUSTIN, TEXAS – May 30, 2024; source: Juice Consulting) – The final lineup of films for The 16th annual Austin Asian American Film Festival (AAAFF) has been announced and can be found listed below, and on the AAAFF website here. The beloved festival returns to the AFS Cinema (located at 6259 Middle Fiskville Rd, Austin, TX 78752) this June 26 - 30, presenting films from a wide array of Asian Diasporic, Asian American, International and Texan filmmakers that honor the themes of personal growth and relationships with others. Festival badges and single-screening tickets are now available for purchase on the AAAFF website. For more information on AAAFF as an organization, see here.

“Through 12 features and 19 short films, our audience will get to delve into intimate stories of relationships,” said AAAFF Executive Director Hanna Huang. “Our protagonists will encounter the personal growth (or not) that comes from finding inner strength and reconciling with their identities.” 

AAAFF will also host their annual Red Carpet Event ahead of this year’s centerpiece film, “Blue Sunshine” by Samyuktha Vijayan, on Friday, June 28 starting at 6:30 p.m. The carpet will feature several filmmakers, actors and members of the AAAFF team; more details to be announced soon.  Interested media can RSVP here.

THE AUSTIN ASIAN AMERICAN FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES 16TH ITERATION, JUNE 26 - 30 AT AFS CINEMA

The Austin Asian American Film Festival returns this summer, presenting films by Asian Diasporic and American filmmakers; the full lineup of films to be announced in late May 

(AUSTIN, TEXAS – May 14, 2024; source: Juice Consulting) – The Austin Asian American Film Festival (AAAFF) returns to the AFS Cinema (located at 6259 Middle Fiskville Rd, Austin, TX 78752) this June 26 - 30, celebrating their 16th year of presenting films by Asian and American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) filmmakers. The poster art this year was created by local Austin artist Tsz Kam, who seeks to reestablish a sense of belonging through their craft. Kam's work has been exhibited across Texas and their latest mural is part of Meow Wolf’s newest location in Grapevine, Texas. Limited early bird badges are on sale now at a special price honoring AAAFF’s Sweet 16, you can purchase them on the AAAFF website here. The full schedule of confirmed films for the festival will be announced in late May; further information on tickets, badges and more will be available via the AAAFF website.
