As part of the Ready. Set. Care health summit, the public is invited for an online film screening of an Austin Asian American Film Festival 2016 feature UNBROKEN GLASS, a documentary film by Dinesh Das Sabu and Kartemquin Films. The film chronicle's the filmmaker's journey to understand his parents, who died over 20 years ago when he was just six years old. Traveling to India and across the United States, Dinesh pieces together the story of his mother's schizophrenia and suicide, and how his family dealt with it in an age and culture where mental illness was often misunderstood, scorned, and taboo. A pre-recorded filmmaker Q&A will be available at the end of the film as well.
