The centuries-old Chinese secret written language Nushu was created by oppressed women to communicate their thoughts and experiences away from the interference of men. Today, the language is gaining renewed interest. This documentary depicts two women who are ardent scholars of the language and whose struggles mirror those of the women who created the language in the first place.
